[Sneak Peek] 2023 Ops Summit Featured Customer: Jersey Mike’s
We’re just shy of a month away from our annual customer conference, Ops Summit, which is on pace to be the largest customer event in Crunchtime history!
Ops Summit 2023 takes place October 4-5, 2023, at the Westin Riverwalk in San Antonio, Texas. If you haven’t yet, don’t forget to register here for this unique event filled with networking, learning, and, of course, the chance to vote for the grand winner of our inaugural Ops Excellence Awards.
Understanding that the best learning opportunities for customers come from their peers, Ops Summit is specifically designed to prioritize customer speakers on the agenda. As we eagerly await this highly anticipated event, we’re highlighting some of our featured customers from the agenda to give you a sneak peek into what you can expect.
Jersey Mike’s Key Customer Profile
Jersey Mike’s serves authentic, fresh sliced/fresh grilled subs on in-store freshly baked bread — the same recipe it started with decades ago in 1956. Ordering a sandwich in the famous “Mike’s Way” style means topping an order with lettuce, onions and tomatoes, oregano, salt, and “The Juice”— a signature blend of red wine vinegar and olive oil. Jersey Mike’s Subs has over 2,000 existing locations and many more in development.
Jersey Mike’s started working with Crunchtime back in 2012 with a focus on inventory and labor management and has just recently added operations execution and learning and development to the mix. Even before implementing Crunchtime, Jersey Mike’s understood the use case for restaurant technology to scale their business.
In this cross-functional panel discussion, we’ll hear from IT, Operations, and Training leaders who will share best practices and the impact that Crunchtime solutions have on their business to create operational excellence.
Panelists from Jersey Mike’s include:
Amanda Vrabel | Manager of Business Management Systems
Starting out at a local store, Amanda Vrabel became a Mike’s Marketer and Assistant Manager. Nine years later, she joined the corporate team as an Application Support Specialist, transitioning to Supply Chain IT Specialist. Now, as Manager of Business Management Systems, she uses her knowledge of JMFS standards and integrations with vendors to provide support for stores nationwide. For the last 17 years, she has dedicated her life to being a Sub Above.
Kevin Loughran | Operations Director
Kevin Loughran has been with Jersey Mike’s Subs since 2002. He held many roles from 2002-2019, including Team Member, General Manager, and eventually Operations Director, overseeing the day-to-day operations in 12 restaurants. In 2019, Kevin joined the training department at the home office overseeing first-time franchisee training and existing development requirements, as well as supporting and training franchisees and their teams on the use and benefits of Crunchtime.
Brian Deeth | Area Director
Brian Deeth owned and operated six Jersey Mike’s stores in Northern Virginia for almost ten years. His first store opened in 2010 and they started using Crunchtime in 2012 when Sysco was first being integrated. He became Area Director of New England in 2019.
Crunchtime solutions used:
- Inventory, Labor, and Business Intelligence | Jersey Mike’s turns data into actionable strategies and can compare company-wide data to see exactly what is most profitable.
- Operations Execution | Jersey Mike’s uses Crunchtime to ensure brand standards are met in every store, which echos true in its recent ad campaign featuring Danny Devito with messaging focused on food quality.
- Learning and Development | Jersey Mike’s considers itself to be a “training company,” boasting a very impressive manager retention rate of 80% during the pandemic.
We’re proud of our 11+ year partnership with Jersey Mike’s and are thrilled to help their stores succeed as they continue to expand nationwide. Register now to hear more from Jersey Mike’s at Ops Summit 2023.
